Picture of the day for June 2nd, 2009 - Ocean Forest Hotel in 1928

A year after this December 1928 vieww, the Ocean Forest Hotel was finished. Its 202 bedrooms, athough small, each had a private bathroom with bathtub with bathtub spigots for hot, cold, and salt water, thought to have great curative powers. A water tank in the central tower supplied hotel water pressure. There was even an indoor, Olympic-size pool filled with salt water from the ocean! The Myrtle Beach Playhouse staged Broadway productions in the ballroom.
