Picture of the day for June 20th, 2009 - Warbird Park - Myrtle Beach Air Force Base
This is a picture of a memorial at the Warbird Park in Myrtle Beach on the old Air Force Base. Warbird Park is located off of Farrow Parkway just before you get to Business 17/Kings Hwy on the left side airport side. At the park are 3 different planes which were used in past wars which were stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base years ago, a A-10 Thunderbold, a A-7 Corsair, and an F-100 Super Sabre. This park is dedicated to those who served in the United States Air Force in Myrtle Beach for nearly 40 years from 1954-1993. The stone in front reads... Dedicated to all men and women wounded in all our wars. Combat Veterans Wounded. They paid for our freedom with blood, all gave some, some gave all. Erected by Military order of Purple Heart and Friends. Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Air Force.
